As I have earlier discussed the various basic body shapes women have, let us discuss what suit to their body type, in terms of ethnic wear i.e Kurtis
- Apple body shape-
Select V-neck pattern kurti
Belt pattern kurtis
Don’t opt for anything which is tighter at waist, as your waist/lower region being the problem area, try and opt for flowy outfits, which has the flow only at the bottom, but not exactly from waist
Choose short kurtis with leggings which draw attention to your slim leg. Also prefer churidars over shalwars.
Mix & match trendy stole or a dupatta take it around your neck and shoulders, than just taking it one side shoulder to draw attention away from your torso.
Go for A line kurtas that has gathers and pleats.
Apple Body Shape Women Avoid:
Avoid Mandarin collar pattern kurti
Avoid Yoke pattern kurti
Avoid patialas bottoms
2) Pear body Shaped women-
- Light color Kurti with dark color Patialas or shalwars to streamline lower body
- Flare Style Kurti & Anarkali Kurti which has flare from waist below
- Kurti with collar pattern, boatneck and Square neck style.
- Printed and textures (stripes, polkadots, sequins) Kurti
- Bishop and rouched sleeves
- Prefer longer kurti as they add length to your body
What to avoid
- Body-hugging fabrics.
- Tight bottoms that highlight your lower half
3) Hourglass Body Shaped women
Choose exact fitting kurtis, empire line cut will good on you.
Belt pattern kurti which define your curved waist line
lightweight and thin fabrics kurtis
skinny leggings or straight jeans with kurtis to accentuate your legs.
Hourglass Body Shape Women Avoid:
Loose fitting kurtis
4) Rectangular Shaped women
Rectangle Body Shape Women Must Prefer:
Frock style short kurti with skin tight jeans or any kurti with flares.
Sleeveless anarklai kurti with leggings to show your arms
Light color kurti with flare
You can go for deep necks wide necks.
Rectangle Shape Women Avoid:
Avoid closefitting kurti
